Stent
A hot new advance in medical technology is the sirolimus stent, manufactured by cordis corporation.
Currently it is in medical trials. Initial results show a remarkable 100% success rate, as opposed
to conventional stents, with a 50% success rate.
My patient is looking to obtain this stent. He is ineligible for the "compassionate use" study,
because he is eligible for the bypass surgery. I would appreciate information on how
to obtain this stent for such a patient. Information about use of the stent in Europe would
also be of interest.
I'm sure that many other people are in a similar position, so I would be interested
in hearing from them!
